External user access

Library users who do not have a UHI network account can register for PIN access to the library catalogue, this applies to:

  • Continuing Stirling students
  • NHS staff
  • SCONUL access users
  • Members of the public
  • Alumni

Once you have a PIN you can renew your books online in the 'my account' area of the catalogue. To login, enter your name (surname, forename), followed by your card ID and PIN in the External users section, then click 'Submit'.

How do I get a PIN?

The library where you registered for your account will be able to provide a PIN number, it will be sent to the email address that you registered when joining the library.

I've forgotten my PIN

If you can't remember your PIN, you can reset it online by clicking the 'Forget your PIN? link' and entering your name and Card ID. You will then receive a message to the the email account that you registered with the library. Follow the link in the email to reset your PIN. The email is only valid for three hours. If you don't change your PIN within that time you will have to start the process again.
