Can I access library resources online?

Yes, we have extensive collections of electronic resources that are accessible on and off-campus, including eBooks, online journals, databases, newspapers, maps etc.

You can find a list of all collections at A-Z Online Collections.  

You can search across eBooks and many of the collections via Library Search

For the individual, full-text, journals and other publications please use the Online Journals

Specific Module Resource Lists are available for many modules

To search the library catalogue, please use the Library Catalogue

How do I login?

The vast majority of electronic resources can be accessed using your standard UHI username and password. Please note there is no need to add '@uhi.ac.uk' at the end of your username for library resources.

The What is my username? guide in the self-service portal explains which login format to use for the main university systems.

If you have difficulty logging in to a resource, please open a ticket on the Self-service portal.

Where can I get help with online resources?

If you have difficulties accessing eResources or locating particular information, please contact your local partner library or open a ticket on the self-service portal and it will be passed the relevant person.

Are there any online tutorials?

We have some introductory videos which demonstrate the main features of Library Search, Module Resource Lists, Online Journals and the A-Z Collections list.

An eBook isn't working?

Are there any web browser plugins that make access easier?

There are a number of browser plugins which make the discovery of journal articles and access easier, particularly when working off-campus. Please see the specific guide for details.

I want to use Google Scholar, is there anything I should know?
