There are a number of resources available to you with which you can generate citations as you develop a text file of eg your essay, dissertation or report. Tools such as Refworks, and Endnote allow you to do this. Different journals have different citation styles so remember this when you are reading articles or considering publication. Their may also be variations within a specific referencing style. Additionally your employer or institution will have their own recommended distinct style so always follow that.
