UHI North, West and Hebrides Library Facilities and Services

Staff are on hand to help you locate resources and make the best possible use of our library facilities and services.

• As well as stocking a range of books, facilities and services include:
• Areas for individual study
• An area for group study
• Access to PCs (no need to book to use), including a table which is height adjustable
• Lapsafes - borrowable laptops
• A separate small room accessed from the Learning Resource Centre with study booths, a couch and a whiteboard
• More PCs are available in the computer suite across from the Learning Resource Centre

Easter closure Fort William Campus from Monday, 14th April to Monday, 21st April. The library will reopen as normal on Tuesday, 22nd April.

Alternative study spaces will be available from Monday, 14th April to Thursday, 17th April. Please note that the campus building will be closed for the Easter bank holiday from Friday, 18th April.

Information for non UHI students or staff

Sconul Users:

Under the Sconul Access Scheme staff and undergraduate students and above from other UK Universities are welcome to use our library facilities for study purposes. You do need to apply to use this scheme by completing an online Sconul application form. Depending on the level of access you are granted by your 'Home' institution, you may be able to borrow up to two books.  You will be responsible for their timely return and any lost or damaged books will need to be paid for. You are welcome to bring your own laptop and wifi is available. We suggest you use Eduroam. You will not be permitted to use our PCs or access UHI electronic resources.

Members of the Local Community:

Members of the local community and visitors can come in and browse our books for free.  

It is appreciated if you let us know in advance of your initial visit and you MUST sign in at reception each time you visit.
