This section aims to point you towards the key evidence based resources relating to health.  Some of these can also be found from the main A-Z list and the Knowledge Network.

Evidence Based Resources

Dynamed

One of three clinical summary tools available - the others are UpToDate and BMJ Clinical Evidence.  Used together - provide you with rapid access to diagnosis, epidemiology, treatment and guidelines of a broad range of clinical conditions.  NB needs Knowledge Network username/password.

UpToDate

One of three clinical summary tools available - the others are Dynamed and BMJ Clinical Evidence.  Used together - provide you with rapid access to diagnosis, epidemiology, treatment and guidelines of a broad range of clinical conditions.  NB only accessible on Campus and on the NHS Highland network.

BMJ Best Practice

One of three clinical summary tools available - the others are UpToDate and Dynamed.  Used together - provide you with rapid access to diagnosis, epidemiology, treatment and guidelines of a broad range of clinical conditions.  NB needs Knowledge Network username/password.

SIGN  (Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network)

The national clinical guidelines development body for Scotland.  Contains full text of guidelines and details of the guideline development programme.

NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence)

The clinical guidance and evidence based body for the NHS.  Useful supplement to SIGN.  Contains full text of guidance, pathways and devtails of guideline development.
